The Bridge is the local village magazine of Horrabridge and Sampford Spiney. It is published once a month, regular as clockwork, containing; articles (ranging from the serious to down right silly), puzzles, reports from local organisations and of local events, a what's on page and whatever else we can cram in.
For those who want to develop or practice their computer skills, fancy tasting the life of a journalist, dream of writing short articles or stories, have an eye for detail and would like to be a copy editor, want to be part of the community and contribute to village life and enjoy a good laugh, the Bridge Committee could be the place for you.
We meet from 8 to 9.30 or 10pm on the first Monday of the month (unless it is a Bank Holiday) for very informal meetings. There are currently about 9 of us, regrettably all over 30, but we are always pleased to see new, especially young, faces and share the terribly onerous burdens of producing a monthly magazine and creating/maintaining a website.
If you would like to know more do contact one of the people listed on the Yellow Pages in the middle of the Bridge Magazine - available from Nisa and the Post Office or delivered to your home for free (another volunteer opportunity) - and come along to see what you think.
